“NICHOLAS I” 4-BED MIXED DORM
4-bed mixed room with shared bathroom.
“Knight of the autocracy” – that was the reputation of Nicholas I. The first day of his reign, December 14, 1825, entered into the Russian history as a day of the Decembrists Revolt; the Emperor tried up to the last to settle everything peacefully.
Despite his efforts to suppress freedom of thought among the people, Nicholas I brought a lot to the development of the empire.
He has strengthened the industry; he has built 70% of new roads; and the construction of the Nikolayev Railway has begun. Nicholas I also introduced a decree on the sale of the peasants, which has later become the basis for the Emancipation reform that abolished serfdom. And it was during his reign, when the Digest of Laws of the Russian Empire has been established.
Magic shimmering light from the lanterns on the walls of “Nicholas I” room, moldings on the ceiling (which are traditional for Traveller’s Palace) – all this creates a unique atmosphere and cozy space for relaxation and reflections.
